Online Music Theory Lessons
The Music Theory Course covers a variety of topics required for the ABRSM Theory Exam. From Grades 1 to 5, students will initially focus on topics related to rhythm and time signatures before moving on to those of pitch, clefs, keys, intervals, chords, and cadences. Additionally, students will learn about different musical instruments, their unique characteristics, and various musical terms and symbols. Homework assignments will be given throughout the course to reinforce their knowledge.
From Grades 6 to 8, my course builds on the knowledge that students have acquired in the earlier grades and covers more advanced skills such as harmonisation, four-part writing, figured bass realisation, short composition, and music analysis. These grades require students to complete more substantial questions and are much more hands-on in comparison, challenging them to apply their theoretical knowledge in more complex and nuanced ways.
